It’s confirmed and she’s very excited. Madonna will soon be joining the array of big stars performing in the most-watched musical event of the year, the Super Bowl halftime show. It is an event wherein more than 162 million in the U.S. will be watching just like what happened last year when the Black Eyed Peas took the stage. The much awaited gig will happen on the first Sunday in February 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee (Madonna) will collaborate with a team from Cirque du Soleil, choreographer Jamie King, and artists from Moment Factory. The spot is all hers just like its previous performers Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, U2, Paul McCartney and Prince.

Madonna is currently working on her new album that is to be released next year and might be around the time of the Super Bowl. She also has a new film “W.E.” which she directed, wrote and produced and will open nationally two days before the NFL’s signature event.

Now that Madonna’s in for the Super Bowl XLVI, a lot more would be looking forward to it!

59 Days, 7 hours and 9 minutes to go before the most awaited Super Bowl starts next year in Indianapolis. I bet you can’t wait as I can’t wait as well. I’m also excited to know who will be the AFC and NFC champions next year. Btw, if you really can’t wait for the big day, you can take a sneak peak! Die hard fans will have an awesome opportunity to gain inside access into behind-the-scenes preparations of Super Bowl XLVI with special tours of Super Bowl Media Center and the Lucas Oil Stadium! Oh yes! That’s what I’ve read somewhere at Frank Supovitz, NFL’s Senior VP announced it last Wednesday!
